Hello everyone! I’m excited to continue sharing with you some of the most breathtaking spots in Turkey. Today, let’s dive into the enchanting waterfalls of Antalya.
Antalya boasts three stunning waterfalls. One is conveniently nestled right near the city center, while the other two are hidden gems tucked away in national parks, far from the hustle and bustle.
The crown jewel is the Lower Düden Waterfall. If you’re staying around Lara, this is a must-visit! A quick 25-minute ride on bus number 07 will take you there.
✨ Lower Düden is one of the rare waterfalls in the world that cascades directly into the sea! Towering about 50 meters (164 feet), it creates a magical spectacle. On sunny days, the sunlight refracts through the mist, painting rainbows in the air — a truly mesmerizing sight. Fun fact: if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of it from your airplane window!
Surrounding the falls is a lush, beautifully maintained park stretching along the coast for kilometers. If you’re up for a walk, you can stroll all the way to the city center — just be prepared for a three-hour adventure by the sea.
Next up, the Upper Düden Waterfall sits about 15 km (9 miles) from downtown Antalya, inside a peaceful national park. Here, the water rushes through rapids before splitting into two powerful streams that plunge 20 meters (65 feet) into a serene lake below.
Winding trails, quaint bridges, and scenic lookout points invite you to explore and admire this natural wonder from every angle.
But the real favorite among my clients is the turquoise gem — Kurşunlu Waterfall. Located on Antalya’s outskirts, it’s a bit tricky to reach by public transport, so I highly recommend renting a car. That way, you can visit all three waterfalls in one day! Or better yet, I can drive you there and capture stunning photos to remember the day forever.
Kurşunlu is not just a waterfall — it’s a protected national park, a serene forest oasis dotted with a series of crystal-clear blue lagoons. Many compare its shimmering waters to Croatia’s famous Plitvice Lakes.
Nestled in a pine forest, the area features a natural leafy tunnel that feels straight out of a fairy tale. Historians believe this magical place has existed since the 2nd or 3rd century AD.
It’s the perfect backdrop for romantic or wedding photoshoots — I adore photographing brides in flowing gowns amid these dreamy lakes!
A quick heads-up: Kurşunlu can be a challenge for photographers because of its low light. To capture the beauty here, you’ll need bright, fast lenses or additional lighting. If you’re booking with another photographer, make sure to see samples from this location to avoid disappointment.
