Hi everyone! Today I’m going to tell you about the Antalya Zoo. Honestly, I’m not really a fan of zoos because I feel sorry for animals locked in cages. But the zoo in Antalya is a bit different: it’s more like a forest — a natural habitat for the animals.
The park was created right in the natural landscape, on the slope of a mountain, back in 1989. Its total area is about 330 hectares. This large space allows the animals to live in very decent conditions, as close as possible to their natural environment.
The zoo is divided into several zones: hoofed animals (llamas, deer, moose, antelopes, zebras, ponies, camels), the cat family (tigers, lions, pumas), birds (from small budgerigars to huge ostriches), and more. There are also wolves, bears, kangaroos, wild boars, yaks, raccoons, and other animals. In total, about 90 species live here.
Well-maintained paths run between the enclosures, and the zoo area is decorated with artificial ponds, fountains, and waterfalls. Waterfowl such as ducks, geese, and swans comfortably live in the ponds.
Children’s favorite place is the mini-zoo, where animals with their babies are kept. You can pet and feed kids like goats, lambs, and foals.
In the terrarium, you can see crocodiles, snakes, lizards, and turtles.
It’s best to visit the zoo in the morning or evening when it’s not too hot. Bring sunscreen, hats, and water with you.
You can get to the zoo by tram — the tram doesn’t have a number. You need to go towards the Kepez district and get off at the last stop, Fatih. Then cross the road and follow the signs for a couple of hundred meters.
Ticket price in 2025: 7 lira for pedestrians; 20 lira per car (regardless of the number of passengers).
